SKILLS ONLY ELIGIBILITY: 

1. For first-time Heartsaver students and for those renewing their Heartsaver Certification.

SKILLS ONLY REQUIREMENTS: 

1. HEARTSAVER ONLINE must be completed online before attending the Skills Only session. Step-by-step instructions will be provided in your confirmation email. 

The Heartsaver First Aid course, which teaches participants the critical skills and knowledge needed to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services arrive. The course is based on the American Heart Association Guidelines

The Course includes:

• First aid basics (including scene safety, finding the problem, and calling for help)
• Medical emergencies (including actions for choking, breathing problems, and shock)
• Injury emergencies (including actions for bleeding, broken bones, and burns)
• Environmental emergencies (including actions for bites and stings, and temperature-related and poison emergencies)

The student must demonstrate proficiency in providing Heartsaver First Aid skills, including. Upon successful completion of skills testing, students will receive an American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid certification card the same day.
